Meet Arpoo Eisendrath
Prior to the arrival of her twin sons into the world, Arpoo Eisendrath’s first and third loves were food. Her second, the environment. Her newest love is the armchair science of cognitive behavior. Perhaps it’s watching her children’s little developing brains. Perhaps from witnessing mental illness of a loved one. Or maybe a long lost highschool dream of being a school psychologist is revisiting. Look closely and you can see a formula. When all the pieces came together, she founded The Wisdom of Food.
Her journey started in Washington State with an Environmental Science degree ready to save the world. Truthfully, it actually started at the age of 12 when she made her first lemon meringue pie. So it only reasons that she was hired and captivated into the world of wine and food at Chateau Ste. Michelle. This road twisted and turned through pastry school and the kitchens of some amazing restaurants until the fork in the road.
She took the road less traveled which led her to Trader Joe’s, all the while running a wedding cake business on the side. Many, many, many tastings and analysis of trends and creative fondant work later, by way of children and a family business, she arrived to Augusta chock full of ideas on how to build a social enterprise that incorporates food choices for a sustainable environment, giving back to the community through urban farm and youth education, baking and thoughtfully serving all the delicious food along the way.
