Meet Arpoo Eisendrath

Prior to the arrival of her twin sons into the world, Arpoo Eisendrath’s first and third loves were food. Her second, the environment. Her newest love is the armchair science of cognitive behavior. Perhaps it’s watching her children’s little developing brains.  Perhaps from witnessing mental illness of a loved one.  Or maybe a long lost highschool dream of being a school psychologist is revisiting.  Look closely and you can see a formula.  When all the pieces came together, she founded The Wisdom of Food.

Her journey started in Washington State with an Environmental Science degree ready to save the world.  Truthfully, it actually started at the age of 12 when she made her first lemon meringue pie.  So it only reasons that she was hired and captivated into the world of wine and food at Chateau Ste. Michelle. This road twisted and turned through pastry school and the kitchens of some amazing restaurants until the fork in the road.

She took the road less traveled which led her to Trader Joe’s, all the while running a wedding cake business on the side.  Many, many, many tastings and analysis of trends and creative fondant work later, by way of children and a family business, she arrived to Augusta chock full of ideas on how to build a social enterprise that incorporates food choices for a sustainable environment, giving back to the community through urban farm and youth education, baking and thoughtfully serving all the delicious food along the way.

Discover the Wisdom of Food

The average adult makes about 2000 decisions per hour and an estimated 226.7 decisions about food alone each day (Cornell University). They are determined by our perceptions, our environment and the cross-section of our feelings and memories. It is often through these meaningful experiences, that we learn of ourselves and the world around us.

The events you will find at The Wisdom of Food are based on two of our most essential and pleasurable requirements of life; food and meaningful interaction. We delve into how our human conditioning may be reformed to mindfulness of our choices and recognize the impact these decisions have on our mental and physical health, the earth, and the larger community around us. Within the happy medium that is food, community and connection, we invite you to join the experience!

Our Mission

The Wisdom of Food has three driving missions.

Educate

Feed your curious mind with expert talks and honest discourse about the effects that these choices can have on your well-being, the environment, and the community at large.

Experience

Feed your appetite with ingredients from local farms. Celebrate and honor our food, taste differently when you know how and where it was grown.

Funding

As an aspiring B Corp.,we resolve to use this Social Enterprise as a means to fund programs such as Georgia Organics and Farm to School, that helps teach kids about where their food comes from and the value of healthy, local food on their community’s long-term health.

Charity Partners

At The Wisdom of Food, we believe in giving back to the community and supporting sustainable practices. We proudly collaborate with organizations dedicated to promoting healthy eating, environmental stewardship, and educational programs.
